Still here...

Well I am still here waiting waiting.......

The job lists seem to be getting quieter as march finishes so I'm hoping to see a better April. As the weather improves I have been working out in the garden in the effort to grow my own food. I've planted some steaks but no new growth yet! Only joking I have some tomato, cucumber, potatoes, radish, onions and carrots so far and my son has his sunflowers growing.

As for my mortgage I have been told by the job centre that the help the gov has promised is not for me as I was made unemployed 3 weeks before the legislation changed and as a consequence not entitled to it! Interesting how the system can beat the system I wonder if they sleep at night it's OK for MP's to get a second home but I can barely afford to keep one.

So like in Kunf Fu I will continue to search the wilderness looking for the open door to paradise...

Thanks for all your comments I know that if you are eager to keep applying for work then something will come up I have appled for 4 posts in the last 3 days so not bad. Hopefully with the goverment's recent aquisition of lloyds we will see a change in the business sector of this country and more vacancy's as a result. Tomorrow I have to go to the jobcentre for my 3 month interview so that'll be interesting.

Thanks again for your comments I have applied for 2 firms with freeview and satellite installation but no luck with them but thanks for the advice I will be looking for more. I would consider moving to other parts of the UK but as long as the money was much more to pay for my home and renting somewhere else.

Its great getting comments and if anyone is in a similar situation to me please email me and I will post your thoughts on my blog for others to read.

Hi to the BBC again

The BBC are doing another online article on me and my Blog so thanks BBC and I look forward do reading it.

Job interview!!

Hi on thursday last week I finally had a job interview! I thought great and got on my suit eager to impress but it wasn't to be. There was 600 CV's submitted to the marketing firm I applied for and only a dozen or so jobs available so I had not much chance getting it anyway. Never mind it will not stop me from trying and I will continue to do just that.

My son has been sick for about 5 days now so I hope he get's better soon.

Just been to the Jobcentre drive thru...

Yes it's even worse now I thought we would have to fight for a pen there seems to be so many people unemployed down there. You cannot blame the staff they are doing their job but it does show that the system of getting people into work which was changed a few years ago does not work anymore. They need to go back to basics and think of retraining jobseekers as soon as possible after a consultation period to asess their sutability.

I have started to apply for mainly sales roles as they seem to be on the up whereas everything else is on the decline. Was not happy with google today though as their Gmail is down!

I've decided to continue...

Well I've decided to start making regular entry's into my blog again sorry for being away but the whole job market has been so quiet I've been a bit down in the dumps.

So let's re-focus and start being more constructive. Over the past few weeks I have been applying for sales jobs but with no success as there must be loads of qualified people out there and I have no sales background. I am looking forward to my 3 month review with the jobcentre so I can talk about any self employed business options they might offer me.

The 3 million unemployed people in this country need help and maybe in April new opportunities might arise. Northern rock will be back on it's feet soon offering mortgages and the car industry could recover if people gain more confidence let's hope so.

Thanks for the comments I will look into doing more PC repair as I have tons of skills there and if anyone wants any garden work or decorating let me know!

I will discuss my drive-thru visit to the jobcentre tomorrow. Bye

Tuesday 20 January 2009

Well another day another no dollar for me and at least I have done my psych evaluation with the B&Q website! I like their style to analyse their applicants using a tick box. Jokes aside I would love a job in B%Q as I have an addiction with DIY but with the jobless market so saturated at the moment I have little hope. Tomorrow morning I will be on the radio again with the good morning wales team discussing the unemployment annual figures that will be announced. I hope I can fit in everything I have written down but the ten minute slots we have on these live broadcasts are restrictive. So I better get some rest as I am on at 7.20 bye

Hi i'm back!

Well I have not been entering my blog for some time as my computer was out of action. So apology’s to any readers out there. I thankfully have built a new machine and have installed windows 7 which is free for now from Microsoft. The problem is that I have so much to tell you all I will have raw fingers soon!
The job search has been very slow this year and manufacturing has been a problem. I seem to be skilled in the wrong type of employment so I went to a careers advisor.
She was a great help with recognising my situation but there is no training available to me as I was not made redundant. The gov has been quick to alter their policy allowing the training grants to come available after 6 months of unemployment. I does however make you question the fact with so many people being tossed onto the streets at the moment, would it be better to train them now and get them into jobs now rather than 6 months? The gov wants us to all lose our houses and our dignity along with it.
The local Jobcentre has changed my appointment time as the jobless have snowed them under! Perhaps they could give me a desk and I could move in!
Gordon brown visited Wales recently and I went on Radio Wales to talk about the visit and make some comments about his intentions. I still question his move to bail out the banks as the money we gave to help them seems to be unavailable to help small and large business. He needs to focus and decide who is more important his voters or the money men.
Well I hope my struggle will come to an end soon as I need crave vending machine coffee and greasy bacon rolls so fingers crossed!
