Hiya, Have you considered working in the aerial/satellite area? What with the digital switchover there are companies taking on trainees and with your background in manufacturing and IT I'm sure you could emphasize those as transferable skills. Just an idea but it might be worth having a ring round local companies to see if they are taking people on. Good Luck with your search and best wishes to to you and your family.
Nice blog - reminds me of the last recession! I was in my early 20's.
I think I must have applied for a job a day, and eventually had a box full of 'go away' letters as I used to call them.
There must have been over 200 letters in there - and I kept them until 1999 when I moved out of Wales to get a proper job!
Best of luck with your job hunting, but if you want a tip, start thinking about working in London or Manchester for a week and travelling home on the weekend.
